These are the general guidelines I follow with all of my clients, designed for optimal healing. If you have questions specific to your tattoo, message me directly on WhatsApp or email.
Cintia follows strict hygiene and sanitary protocols in every session — my clients' health and safety matter just as much to me as the artistic result.
First 2–3 hours
Leave the bandage on for 2 to 3 hours after the session. Don't remove it early, even out of curiosity.
First 3 days: washing only
Remove the bandage and wash the area with cold water and fragrance-free neutral soap. Use a clean hand — never sponges or cloths — and pat it dry gently with a clean towel, never rubbing. During these first three days, wash only with cold water and neutral soap — don't apply any cream yet.
Moisturizing (starting day 4)
After the third day, start moisturizing with a very light layer of fragrance-free cream — preferably Lubriderm, blue cap — 2 to 3 times a day. Avoid petroleum jelly and alcohol-based products.
First week
It's normal for the skin to feel tight, flake, or itch a little. Don't scratch or pick at the scabs — letting them fall off naturally keeps the tattoo from losing color.
Full healing (weeks 2–4)
The skin may look a little dull while it finishes healing underneath, even once the surface looks normal. Keep moisturizing daily even after the skin looks healed.
While healing and afterward, use sunscreen over the tattoo — direct sun fades color over time.
Avoid submerging the tattoo until the skin is fully closed — usually 2–3 weeks. Standing water can introduce bacteria while the skin is still open.
Avoid clothing that rubs directly against the tattooed area during the first few days.
Excessive sweating and friction can irritate healing skin — avoid intense workouts in the first few days.
Always wash your hands before touching or moisturizing the area, and avoid scratching or picking at scabs.
Some redness and swelling in the first two days is normal. Contact me if you notice any of these signs:
